FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MAY 15, 2015 / Ketchikan, Alaska: Chinook Shores Lodge is pleased to announce the opening of Nadra’s Tackle and Teez, a new lodge store located in the ground level of the Cedar House at the top of the Chinook Shores Lodge Pier. The store offers guests and visiting anglers a convenient destination for fishing tackle, apparel and lodge check-in — all steps from the water.

Nadra’s Tackle and Teez carries a full selection of fishing essentials including rods, reels, weights, leaders and jigs, alongside Chinook Shores Lodge branded apparel — t-shirts, hoodies and hats. The space was designed and merchandised by Nadra Angerman, whose eye for retail display reflects a lifetime immersed in the sporting goods business. Angerman grew up working in her family’s store, Angerman’s Sporting Goods in Wrangell, Alaska, owned and operated by her parents Dick and Barbara Angerman before their retirement.

Lodge owner Jeff Wedekind built out the space to Nadra’s specifications, installing slat board displays and a point-of-sale counter. When merchandise began arriving, Wedekind admits the finished layout wasn’t immediately obvious — but Angerman’s merchandising background transformed the space. Two mannequins dressed in lodge apparel now greet guests at the entrance.

The store also solves a longstanding logistical challenge: previously, Wedekind would run up the hill to his home to process credit card transactions for guests. Nadra’s Tackle and Teez now serves as the official check-in and check-out hub for the lodge.

“Opening this store has been a dream,” said Nadra Angerman. “I grew up behind a retail counter watching my parents serve the fishing community in Wrangell, and getting to bring that same spirit to Chinook Shores Lodge feels like coming full circle.”

“Nadra knew exactly what this store needed to be,” said Jeff Wedekind, owner of Chinook Shores Lodge. “I built the space, the merchandise arrived, and she made it into something special. It’s a real asset for our guests and for the lodge.”

Nadra’s Tackle and Teez is now open to lodge guests and the public.
