Every boat in the Chinook Shores fleet has a name, and Iron Man has a story behind its name. The boat was originally ordered as Red Dog — a nod to Sunny, the beloved Red Labrador belonging to lodge Facilities and Equipment Manager Soren Heinecke. When the boat arrived, however, it became clear that the red finish was too close in color to Red Rooster, already a veteran of the Chinook Shores fleet. A rename was in order, and Iron Man was born.

“I was pretty excited about Red Dog — Sunny deserved her own boat,” laughed Soren Heinecke, Facilities and Equipment Manager at Chinook Shores Lodge. “But I have to admit, Iron Man suits her just fine. She’s a strong, reliable boat and I’ll make sure she stays that way. Keeping this fleet in top shape year-round is what I do.”

Soren Heinecke has been with Chinook Shores Lodge for five years, serving as the lodge’s year-round Facilities and Equipment Manager and a licensed captain. His dedication behind the scenes ensures that every Silver Streak rental boat — from White Lightning to Iron Man — is maintained to the highest standard of safety and performance.
