Nadra's New Year's Resolutions

January Newsletter

As a TYPE-A person, I usually resolve to be more zen. All that ACTUALLY does is stress me out and cause delays. As I look back it seems clear, efficiency is my real resolution. Time is money, people! So, here it is – my STANDARD yearly resolutions:

Resolution #1: Maintain the appearance of eating salad. (Which means ensuring every dinner plate has a few green leaves next to a massive slab of King Salmon).

Resolution #2: Catch more salmon (for the salad). Believe it or not, I don’t get to do much fishing. Our days-off consist of Jeff hauling gear, running gear and driving the boat, while I simply catch up on backlogged emails with my phone and reel in the fish when he tells me to. We are a dynamic duo that way! Speaking of which, if you’ve been wanting to go fishing, it’s not too late. Send us an email or give us a call for available dates.

Resolution #3: Travel more. Really, who doesn’t want to travel more? People travel to Chinook Shores Lodge from all over to get to where great fishing is just 10-45 minutes away from our dock (map above). This year, I too am vowing to add fabulous travel destinations to my bucket list. I know, I’m too young to have a bucket list, but I’m on my phone a lot and it doesn’t hurt to dream. In the meantime, here’s a list of places Jeff and I will likely visit on our trade-show circuit: Bellingham WA, Vancouver WA, Waldport OR, Portland OR, Salt Lake City UT, Sacramento CA. Catch us on the road, and let us know if you have any travel recommendations!

Resolution #4: Learn to accessorize. The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize (I heard THAT in a movie one time). Most anglers wear camo or fleece, but we’ve had guests show up in everything from Hockey Jerseys to Tuxedo Shirts to CRAZY hats and other unique fanfare. YOU GUYS really seem to know how to do it, and you never disappoint.

Resolution #5: Meet cool people. Truly one of the best things about owning a fishing lodge is you really DO get to meet some cool people. And what I find REALLY cool is that no matter what city or state people are from, they all share a commonality with other anglers. New and old fishing friends mingling on the dock after a great day of fishing. What’s better than that? HAPPY NEW YEAR lets do it all again next year! My resolutions will be the same, for efficiency.

Happy New Year
